Pinkfresh Studio March 2023 Washi, Stamp, Die, and Stencil Release

Good morning! We are kicking off the week with a brand sparkling new release from Pinkfresh Studio, and we are hopping along to celebrate all of the washi tape goodness that is now available! (You can check out the entire new release HERE.) I am extra excited about this release, because I have a new washi tape illustration included in this month’s product lineup, called Artistic Dahlias. I love the elegance and shape of dahlias; I generally prefer flowers that are fairly symmetrical, nice and fluffy, and that have plenty of space to dig down into the shading, and dahlias are such beautiful blooms that fit all of those criterion!

Creating this washi tape suite was pure fun for me. I illustrated the big fat blooms, then added some delicate little delphinium filler flowers and sprigs of foliage for contrast. I couldn’t resist keeping the color scheme to my favorite colors, either: bubblegum pink dahlias, lavender blue delphiniums, and jade green foliage…. so bright and springy! And the folks at Pinkfresh added in their magical gold foil accents to the washi tape, so that it has that extra bit of elegance and class that are so emblematic of Pinkfresh’s aesthetic. As always, there is a Washi Tape, Stamp, Stencil, and Coordinating Die to create the Artistic Dahlia washi tape product suite, so the color scheme, coloring medium, and arrangement possibilities are truly endless!

For today’s projects, I created a card and tag using the Artistic Dahlias Washi Tape and Coordinating Die. I began by adhering two separate panels of the washi tape to some heavyweight vellum. I find that using vellum with the semi-transparent washi tape helps to add a light and airy quality to the die cuts. I cut the images with the handy-dandy all-inclusive die, which cuts all of the images out with just one die and one pass through your die cut machine, so no need to line up a bunch of individual images! These washi tape suites from Pinkfresh are all about convenience and speed.

For my card, I wanted to allow the vibrant pink and green of the washi tape to be the star of the show, so I kept the background a super clean and bright white. I die cut the Ornate Medallions cover plate die from some crisp white cardstock, then backed it with a solid piece of A2 cardstock, popping up the cover plate die cut with some foam tape to add extra dimension to the little cutouts on the die cut. I also die cut a lacy border using the Lacey Edgers 1 die set, cut again from some crisp white cardstock. I trimmed a thin strip of gold mirror cardstock and added it along the edge of the lacy die cut strip, which coordinates nicely with the gold foil accents on the washi tape.

I arranged the washi tape die cuts in a cluster on my card front, orienting them so that they sort of drip over the right side of my card front. I adhered the large main die cut with some clear foam tape (I probably could have used regular solid foam tape, but I wanted to be sure that my semi-transparent die cuts would remain pristine) then added the accents with both clear dimensional adhesive and small dots of liquid adhesive to create a super dimensional bouquet.

The new Artistic Dahlia Stamp Set contains within it several beautiful sentiments in a gorgeous, scripty font, and bonus, the Coordinating Die Set has dies to cut the larger sentiments out, as well! I heat embossed the “always here for you” sentiment on some white cardstock using gold glitter embossing powder, then die cut it with the coordinating die. The finished die cut is incredibly delicate and lovely. I popped it up with some foam adhesive, then added a few Gold Glitter Drops for one last bit of golden shine!

Because the die cuts all of the images in one fell swoop, I had some leftovers that I was able to turn into a super quick tag! I began by die cutting the Foldable Shaker Tags die from some white cardstock. I again wanted to highlight those beautiful gold foil accents on the Artistic Dahlias Washi Tape, so I trimmed down a panel that I’d previously hot foiled using the Geo Arch Hot Foil Plate and adhered it behind the circular opening on the tag.

I heat embossed another greeting from the Artistic Dahlia Stamp Set using more gold glitter embossing powder and trimmed it down. I adhered the sentiment and the washi tape die cuts to the tag using dimensional adhesive, then added a few more Gold Glitter Drops and a raffia loop and bow to make this tag ready to add to a birthday gift!

More Pinkfresh Studio October Release Inspiration!

Hi there! If you haven’t checked out the new Pinkfresh Studio October Washi Tape Release, you’re missing out! While I love the ease of creating with the washi tape, I am always up for some watercoloring, and I tried to emulate the loose, flowy style that I so admire from other artists when creating with the Indigo Roses Stamps and Coordinating Dies. Let’s get started with the details!

Crafty tip-I recently reorganized my Daniel Smith watercolors. I have, ahem, an abundance of Daniel Smith paints, and I had them in one large tin (large like the size of my laptop… eek), but I found that extremely challenging to work with due to the overwhelming amount of choices. I decided to organize them by color family into smaller tins, and I have found this very helpful in jumpstarting my creativity! I only tell you this because, in my opinion, it’s never a bad idea to reorganize your supplies if you feel like your creativity is being stifled by your current system of organization. Move things around, change them up, make your space work for you! Something that works wonderfully for someone else might not work perfectly for you, so don’t be afraid to switch things up. I will say that having a labelmaker has been extremely helpful after a particularly intense reorganization session, haha!

I began by heat embossing the beautiful images from the Indigo Roses Stamp set onto some Arches Cold Press Watercolor Paper using Altenew’s Rose Gold embossing powder. This powder is a bit bolder than some other shades of rose gold, and it was a lovely, dramatic shade to pair with my watercoloring. I then used my Daniel Smith paints to add some beautiful, loose watercolor to these whimsical floral images. I made sure to use lots of water and allow the paint to bloom, creating a loose, super artsy look. I did try to keep the color more concentrated in the center of the flower, adding some Rose of Ultramarine to create extra drama. I die cut the finished flowers using the Coordinating Dies.

For the card base, I cut down two A2 card fronts from some Lawn Fawn Speckled Eggshell cardstock. This creamy cardstock has just enough texture to add some interest, and this warm white shade works perfectly with the warm white of the Arches watercolor paper. In my head, I saw these roses climbing up a trellis in an English garden, so I die cut the Pinkfresh Studio Simply Diamonds die from the second panel of Speckled Eggshell cardstock and popped it up on the full A2 panel for a tone-on-tone die cut background.

I arranged the flowers in a cluster on my “trellis”, then popped them up using a double layer of foam tape for tons of height and dimension. I added a greeting, heat embossed in the same rose gold embossing powder, then trimmed it out with my scissors into three pieces to create a custom greeting. I popped that up with some more foam adhesive, then finally added a few Blossom glitter drops to add a bit more pink and a bit more sparkle!

Pinkfresh Studio October Washi Tape Release Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hi there! Pinkfresh Studio’s October Release is now available, and it’s full of absolutely stunning new washi tape designs! I absolutely adore the versatility of the Pinkfresh Washi Tape product suites, because you can do as much or as little work as you want with each of the different components… the possibilities are endless! Don’t feel like watercoloring? Use the stencils to add lots of vibrant color to your stamped images! Don’t feel like stamping at all? Use the washi tape! And the best part is… one die set coordinates with all of the products, so die cutting is super quick and simple with one pass through your die cut machine! I have a slimline card with some wildflowers exploding out from behind the greeting, so let’s get started with the details!

Today’s project features the stunning new Chrysanthemum Washi Tape and Coordinating Dies. The beautiful watercoloring in the Chrysanthemum Washi Tape is a beautiful, loose style, one that I have not been able to achieve in my own watercoloring, so being able to have such lovely images at my finger tips is such fun! I first adhered a couple of the full image sets onto some white cardstock, using an old gift card to make sure that it was adhered snugly and that there were no air bubbles, then used the Coordinating Dies to die cut all of the images lickety split.

I wanted to create a fun textured background for one of the greetings included in the stamp set (for which there are also coordinating dies!), so I die cut one of the Nested Hexagons from some bright white cardstock, then ran the die cut hexagon through my die cut machine once again with the Floral Tiles Cover Plate die. This adds some subtle texture to the background of my sentiment die cut very quickly and easily! I also die cut a white frame using the same size and slightly smaller Nested Hexagons dies, which I popped up using foam adhesive to add extra dimension and texture. I heat embossed a greeting from the Chrysanthemum Stamp Set onto some white cardstock, then cut it with the coordinating die. I popped it up in the center of my textured hexagon die cut using some more foam adhesive.

To assemble the card, I used some slightly thinner foam adhesive (I’ll link the specific adhesive below) to pop up the die cut frame in the center of a slimline card base, then arranged my die cut washi tape chrysanthemum flowers so that they were popping out from behind the framed greeting. I adhered them using some more of the thinner foam tape and liquid adhesive. The thinner foam tape for the frame provided just enough height that I could easily slip the die cuts beneath for a quick arrangement. The final touch was to add a few Butterscotch Glitter Drops to coordinate with my metallic embossing powder on the greeting!

Pinkfresh Studio July Release Blog Hop+Giveaway!

Hi there! Today, Pinkfresh Studio is releasing their newest collection of stamps, dies, washi tapes, and stencils, and we are hopping along to inspire you with all of the new goodies! This month’s new release has a wide variety of styles and multiple seasons, and I’m super excited to share a new autumnal color variation for the previously-released Sunflowers washi tape set, which I designed and painted for Pinkfresh Studio earlier this year. This new Autumnal Sunflowers features deeper, richer colors that are perfect for autumn and Thanksgiving cards. I have a mini slimline project to share with you today, so let’s get started with the details!

I began by adhering the Autumnal Sunflowers Washi to plain white cardstock. I used a scraper from my old Cricut days to make sure that the washi was adhered tightly to the paper and that there were no air bubbles. I used the coordinating die to die cut the images. (I love that it is all one piece, so you can run your die through your machine one time and get a ton of pieces to use on your project! There is also a coordinating stamp set, also in one piece, so that you can use the washi tape or the stamp set and color with your favorite medium in whatever color combo you choose!)

When I first saw the images for this month’s release, I immediately knew that I was going to be pairing this new Autumnal Sunflowers washi tape with the new Dainty Plaid Stamp and coordinating Dainty Plaid Stencil. I think plaid epitomizes autumn fashion and style, like a big chunky plaid scarf! I heat embossed the Dainty Plaid Stamp on some white cardstock using gold embossing powder, then used blending brushes to blend Marigold, Clementine, and Sunshine inks to create a sunny yellow plaid background. I die cut a large circle from the plaid panel using the Nested Circles dies. I also die cut a gold foil Blanket Stitched Circle frame and adhered it around the edge of the plaid circle.

Once I had the die cut components complete, I trimmed down a coordinating deep purple mini slimline card base (3.5″x6″) to help make those purple berries in the washi tape pop. I arranged the floral washi die cuts around the edge of my plaid circle in a bouquet, adhering them with liquid adhesive and single and double layers of foam tape for tons of dimension. I adhered the entire piece to my mini slimline card base with foam adhesive, allowing some of the pieces to spill over on each side. (You can easily mail this in an A7 envelope, even with the overhanging bits!) For the greeting, I wanted to highlight some of the beautiful foiled accents on the Autumnal Sunflowers washi tape, so I used one of the Foiled Sentiments 3 from last month’s release, the edges of which I lightly blended some Marigold and Clementine inks to help it coordinate further. I popped the greeting up on the plaid circle using foam adhesive, then added a few Espresso jewels for one last element of shine!

Pinkfresh Studio March 2022 Washi, Stamp, Die, Stencil, and Hot Foil Release!

Hi there! I’m super excited to be a part of the Pinkfresh Studio March 2022 release blog hop today! You can find the full hop list at the bottom of this post. It’s always exciting to me when I am helping to introduce product that I designed, and in today’s release, I have a new washi tape product suite being released, with Hibiscus stamps, dies, washi tape, and stencils! I shared a video on the Pinkfresh Studio YouTube channel last week sharing a sneak peek of the stamps and dies, which you can watch here in HD or below:

For my project today, I am using the washi tape and coordinating die. I love that the Hibiscus stamps, washi tape, and stencils all coordinate with the dies, so that you can use the products interchangeably. Such an incredibly clever concept! The Hibiscus washi tape and Sunflowers washi tape are my first foray into creating washi tape, and it was so exciting for me personally as an artist and such an honor to have Pinkfresh use some of my original artwork for washi tape. (Reminder: if you purchase the Sunflowers stamps and stencils before 3/31, the generous folks at Pinkfresh are donating all of the profits of the sale of this suite during the month of March to Save the Children, which is providing direct humanitarian aid to children in Ukraine!) You can see some inspiration on how I used the stamps alone in this blog post.

For this first project, I used the Hibiscus washi tape and dies to create this clean card with a pop of bright tropical color! I began by adhering the Hibiscus washi tape to clean white cardstock, then die cut the images with the coordinating dies. I love the washi tape/die concept; it’s like having an almost-endless supply of stickers!

For the card base, I wanted to create something that was simple and clean that provided a bit of texture but still allowed the vibrant tropical flowers to be the star of the show, so I die cut the Diagonal Stripes with Window die from some crisp white cardstock and adhered it to a white A2 card base. The subtle texture of the white on white creates a great backdrop for the bright flowers! I layered the large Hibiscus bouquet with some of the smaller elements to create a huge floral swag, then adhered them to the side of the window using both foam and liquid adhesive for lots of dimension.

For the greeting, I used one of the Fancy Script Words hot foil plate and coordinating dies that I’d previously created using white cardstock and shiny graphite colored foil. I adhered it to the card front with a double layer of foam adhesive to give it tons of height, then added some Matte Silver Pearls for a touch of shine and to coordinate with the charcoal foil!

For my second card, I used the graceful and lovely new Rainbow Floral Stamps, layering stencils, and dies. I began by heat embossing the Rainbow Floral Stamps on some super pale pink cardstock using white embossing powder. I then used the Rainbow Floral layering stencils with some pretty pinks and greens to create the lovely roses. The pink of the cardstock is so pale that it doesn’t interfere with the green ink blending! I die cut the finished images with the coordinating dies.

Next, I did some hot foiling using the fantastic new Nested Hexagons Hot Foil Plates and coordinating dies. This new group of nested dies is going to become a staple in my craft room; the frames that the hot foil creates is so incredibly classy and are the perfect foil for the beautiful floral images from Pinkfresh! I used the same shade of blush pink with some beautifully shiny rose gold foil to create this tone-on-tone effect. Hot foil+colored cardstock is a winning recipe in my book!

I layered the foiled Nested Hexagons frame on an A2 card base of the same blush pink cardstock using foam adhesive, then arranged my stenciled floral die cut images. I did some selective trimming and arranging to create a cascade down the one side of my card. “Waste not, want not” is my philosophy in my craft room. The little pieces that I trim off of the edge are almost always used somewhere else on my card peeking out from behind a die cut or dripping off of the edge of the card base. I adhered the die cut pieces using liquid and foam adhesive, then added a coordinating rose gold foil/blush cardstock greeting that I’d created using the Brushed Sentiments Hot Foil Plates and Coordinating Dies. Finally, I added a few shining Ballet Slipper gems to add just a touch more sparkle to this pretty-in-pink card.
