Hi there! Altenew released their new Paint-A-Flower: Rosa Floribunda stamp set, and we are celebrating with a blog hop full of beautiful inspiration! You should have arrived here from Preeti Chandran, and your next stop is Verity Biddlecombe. You can also always start back at the beginning at the Altenew Card Blog in case you get lost! The Rosa Floribunda stamp set is a stunning arrangement of beautiful, classic roses that look gorgeous in a variety of mediums, colors, and arrangements! Here’s a peek at this month’s Paint-A-Flower:

These beautifully detailed floral stamps are such a joy to work with, and the Rosa Floribunda (how fun is that name? I want to say it with a Spanish accent and make it so fancy, ha!) set is one of the loveliest yet! You can always subscribe to receive them automatically each month-and at a discount! I have a monochromatic project that allows the beautiful details in the stamp set to really shine, so let’s get started with the details.

I love the look of a bunch of flowers cascading up or down the front of a card. It puts me in mind of the Secret Garden, with overgrown, romantic elegance. I wanted to let the graceful shapes of the rose illustration be the star of today’s project, so I wanted to create stark contrast with the background. To achieve this, I heat embossed the florals from Rosa Floribunda using some crisp white embossing powder in a cascade going up the front of a deep teal card front. Next, I used a white pencil to add some highlights to the tips of the petals, allowing the centers of the flowers to keep that intense teal glow.

Next, I used a blender brush to blend some Galactic Stream ink on the opposite corner of the card front, which I think helps to further enhance the added pencil shading and make the bright white embossing stand out even better. I also splattered some diluted white gouache on that blended corner; these little pops of white add an extra layer of texture of the card front.

For the greeting, I die cut the Mega Hope from some crisp white cardstock twice, adhering them together to create a dimensional die cut. I also heat embossed a coordinating greeting from Mega Greetings 4 on some more deep teal cardstock, then popped it up using Instant Dimension Foam Tape. Simple, but effective, I think!
