Hello!!! I am incredibly pleased to announce that I am now a part of the Honey Bee Stamps Design Team! I have loved Honey Bee’s products for quite a while, and I’m so thrilled to be a part of their team for the remainder of 2017! (You can see the announcement, with links to the other incredibly talented designers’ blogs, here.)
To celebrate, I wanted to create a “thank you” card using some of my most favorite Honey Bee products. You’ve seen me use the Country Blooms stamps and dies several times before with watercolors, but I wanted to try them out with my Prismacolor colored pencils and blender pencil. I started by die cutting all of the dies from Toned Gray paper, then stamping the coordinating stamp images from Country Blooms with some black ink. (I find that, with colored pencils, just use your favorite black ink. Brand doesn’t make much difference.)
After I had colored all of the pretty flowers in happy shades of pink, yellow, and blue, I arranged them on an A2 stitched rectangle cut from the same Toned Gray paper from Strathmore. (I don’t like when the outline of die cuts is a different color from the solid colored background, so by using the same color of paper for both the die cuts and the background, they match. Yes, I’m that picky haha.)
For the greeting, I used some very pale pink card stock to cut the beautiful Thanks and Giving dies three times. I adhered the die cuts together using some liquid adhesive in order to create a dimensional die cut. I adhered it in the center of the stitched rectangle, then arranged my Country Blooms swags in the corners, adhering them with foam adhesive. The final step was to add a touch of sparkle using some pretty pink sequins from Cartwright’s to fill out the bouquets.
And that’s all for that card! I’m so grateful to the ladies over at Honey Bee for allowing me this opportunity. I can’t wait to get started showing you their wonderful products!
Also, on an unrelated but still exciting note, I surpassed 2000 followers on Instagram this past weekend. I have dreamed of achieving this goal for a long time, and was able to (with the help of my extremely supportive and amazingly talented friend Jessica to get me over the hump) realize my dream this past weekend! I have a special giveaway planned, but I am still rounding up prizes from my favorite companies, so stay tuned for information on how you can enter to win my giveaway!
Have a marvelous day, friends!
This is beautiful, Emily! Congrats on Honeybee ( I have the Zen florals) and your 2000 mark. I think I told you a long time ago that you were amazing and big things would come your way. You deserve all this recognition.
Gorgeous card! I’ve been eyeing that toned grey paper for a while, and I do believe you’ve put me over the edge! Just beautiful. I love Honey Bee stamps, too – congrats on making their design team – WooHoo!!
