Hi friends! I have a super fun and happy project to share with you today featuring some fabulous new products from the Simon Says Stamp Shine On release! (click HERE to see the full release!) I always gravitate towards cover plates; they make such an enormous impact on your card front with one pass through your die cutting machine, and there are so many fun ways to get creative with them! I chose to use the new Tall Happy Cover as the focal point for my shimmering rainbow shaker card, adding a sassy birthday sentiment for good measure. Let’s get started on the details of my project!

To begin, I die cut the new Tall Happy Cover from some iridescent white foil cardstock. To bring in the lovely pastel iridescent colors from the cardstock, I decided to go full-on happy with a pretty blended pastel rainbow! I blended a vertical rainbow on my horizontal card front using Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Ballerina, Lilac, Seafoam, Jade, and Butter. I love how beautifully these shades fade into one another, creating just the prettiest rainbow! For good measure, I splattered the blended panel with sparkling iridescent glitter watercolors.

After I had finished creating the background, I decided to create a flat shaker card. I used some leftover stamp packaging to create the translucent pocket over the entire blended card front, then filled the pocket with beautiful Rainbow Stardust Embellishments. These colors worked absolutely perfectly with the pastel blended rainbow!

Once the shaker base had been completed, I finished off the focal point. I adhered the Tall Happy Cover Plate die cut to the front of the shaker pocket with liquid adhesive, then created a “sentiment enhancement” with the new Old Broad Squad. I stamped the two (somewhat sassy!) sentiments from the set with Seafoam ink, then stamped again with embossing ink and added iridescent embossing powder over the top to create a lovely, shimmery greeting. I die cut these two sentiments and placed them on the card front with foam adhesive squares, layering them over the top of the Happy die cut. Finally, I added some sparkling Dewpierce Tiny Butterflies cut from iridescent white glitter cardstock and peeking around the lines of the Tall Happy die cut! I just love how happy and light this card turned out. Perfect for a birthday card for a treasured friend!

Well, that’s all for my project today! If you are an on-the-fly crafter like I sometimes have to be (mom life, am I right?), cover plates are your new bestie! You could very easily simplify this project by removing the shaker element and just have the gorgeous rainbow behind the cover plate die cut do the heavy lifting for you. It still would be such a pretty card! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Here’s to What’s Next, Grad x2 with Simon Says Stamp!

June 12, 2026

Hi friends! Graduation season is starting to wind down here, and so I thought I’d share some fun options for graduation cards that are not only quick to create but easily customizable to fit your school’s colors! Our school colors are maroon, silver, and white, and so I pulled out several different options of colored and specialty cardstock from my stash to create this pair of projects perfect for a graduate. Let’s get started with the details!

The key component for both of these is the Grad Cover Plate, which is an older cover plate die but so classy and timeless that it works beautifully for guys and gals! I used this die as the focal point to create a simple flat shaker card as well as a more involved paper inlaid card with a little blending and lots of bling.

For the flat shaker, I began by die cutting the Grad Cover Plate from some brushed silver cardstock, reserving the inner pieces of the letter R, O, and A. I trimmed down a piece of maroon cardstock to A2 sized, then created a flat shaker pocket with some leftover stamp packaging and Tear-rifically Tacky Tape. I filled the shaker pouch with Moonlit Snow and Mulled Wine Embellishment Mixes, as well as some silver star sequins, creating a beautiful shaker mixture that coordinates perfectly with the colors of the card! Once I had sealed up the shaker pouch, I adhered the silver cover plate die cut to the front of the shaker with liquid adhesive and added the entire panel to an A2 card front. Super clean and perfectly festive for a graduating student, not to mention easy to customize to the proper school colors!

My second card is a bit more involved. I began by die cutting the main focal point cover plate from that same deep maroon cardstock. I cut down a panel of white cardstock to the same dimensions as the cover plate die cut, then used blending brushes to lightly blend Shark and Cabernet Pawsitively Saturated Ink at the top and bottom of the panel, allowing the blended sections to peek out behind the die cut letters when placed behind it! I also cut the graduation cap using some deep maroon glitter cardstock and inlaid these glittery pieces within the negative space of the main die cut, adding a tiny silver bow for a bit of extra texture. I adhered this panel to a silver Chunky A2 Scallop Rectangles die cut, creating a pretty frame around the main focal point. This was popped up on a full size A2 panel of the same maroon cardstock, adding one final layer of cardstock. The final touch was a ton of gorgeous and sparkling Cherry Pawsitively Dazzling Gems! This card has several more elements to it, and is quite a bit heavier than the previous card, so definitely one to deliver by hand, perhaps at a graduation party!

Well, that’s all for my projects today! It’s always smart to have a few graduation card ideas in your back pocket, right? Our kiddos aren’t at that age for graduation yet, but I foresee having lots of these on hand to give out in about 5 years! (I don’t even want to think about my big kids actually graduating yet, so in my head these are for their friends, ha!) Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Oh Happy Day Teacher’s Thank You with Simon Says Stamp!

Hi friends! Remember THIS card? I used the Happy Rainbow stencil set to create a rainbow image large enough to make two card fronts, and I have the second one to share with you today! I love a good two-fer! For the previous card, I did some fussy cutting, some die cutting, and added a quick sentiment. Today’s card is a fun and festive shaker card using the remaining A2 rainbow panel, perfect for celebrating the end of another school year. Let’s get started with the details on my project!

To start, I used Pawsitively Saturated Inks in shades of Apple, Cantaloupe, Melon, Butter, Dublin, Cadette, Clematis with blending brushes to blend the Happy Rainbow stencil. I used my Stencil Station (a Craft Tacky Mat placed on a Magnetic Glass Mat, the combination of which holds my cardstock in place securely with the heavy glass mat while the Craft Tacky Mat keeps my stencil in the right spot on my cardstock!) After I had blended all of the pretty ROY G BIV colors on my cardstock panel, I used Rainbow Splash Black ink to add the stenciled boho details to the rainbow. I love the sharp contrast between the vibrant colors and the crisp black details!!

Once I had finished blending the stenciled images, I cut the panel in half to create the two A2 card fronts. For this shaker card, I used some leftover stamp packaging and Tear-rific Tape to create a flat shaker pocket, which I filled with tiny iridescent sequins and delicate silver star sequins.

For the greeting, I used the older Oh Happy Day as my sentiment focal point, cutting the detail layer from So Very Black cardstock and the shadow from vellum, layering the two together with liquid adhesive. I popped it up on the front of the shaker panel using thin strips of foam adhesive, then tucked a sentiment strip from Back to School beneath the die cut greeting, again using foam adhesive. Finally, I tucked a silver cord bow next to the die cut greeting, adding a touch more texture and shine to the card!

Well, that’s all for my project today! Don’t you just love when you can use one stenciled image to create two different projects? It makes me feel so efficient and organized, ha! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Hi friends! I am back with a sweet shaker project using one of the add-ons from the June 2026 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit of the Month. The main kit has sold out, but one of the best things about the Simon Says Stamp kits is that you can buy the individual items a la carte in addition to the add-on products. I am a sucker for a cute little ducky, especially when paired with some other baby imagery. I have mentioned before that my older twins’ baby shower and nursery theme was gray and yellow ducklings and flowers, so I always get a little nostalgic any time I am presented with an opportunity to work with duck imagery. I created this sweet shaker card using a single ducky die cut from the new Darling Duckies embossing folder and die set. Sometimes one is all you need! Let’s get started with the details!

To begin, I die cut an individual ducky using the dies from the Darling Duckies product set, then placed the die cut in its appropriate spot in the embossing folder and ran it through my die cutting machine to add that fabulous raised texture and shape to the die cut. I used my OLO Markers to add some simple coloring to the embossed duck die cut, keeping the colors simple and adding only hints of shadow and shape.

After I had created my ducky, I used the older Honeycomb Tag set to create a window in the side of my A2 card front. To create this scalloped, hexagonal shape without having the tag topper, I placed the die to the side of my card front, overlapping the edge with the top of the tag with the edge of the cardstock so that it would hang over the side and not be visible on my card front! Once I had created my window opening, I used some leftover packaging to create a flat shaker on another piece of white A2 cardstock, filling the shaker pouch with Golden Hour Embellishment Mix. Once the shaker was created and filled, I adhered the card front with the window directly over the top so that I could keep the shaker bits visible. I nestled the scalloped frame die cut in the correct spot, then adhered it with thin foam adhesive squares to add a little extra dimension.

Once I had adhered the window card front and scalloped frame to the shaker base, I created a sentiment using the older Oh, Baby set, embossing it with shimmering gold embossing powder on white cardstock. I also die cut a few individual flowers from the Honeycomb Tag set, coloring them using the same yellow alcohol markers used on the ducky die cut. I think they look just like delicate little buttercups! I popped up the greeting die cuts with foam adhesive, overlapping the shaker window, then arranged the ducky and buttercups around the greeting with more foam adhesive. A sweet little bow finished it off!

Well, that’s all for my project today! I just love when an entire project is built around one tiny die cut. This project is a bit cleaner than my typical projects, but sometimes white space is required. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

A Double Leftovers Card Set with New Simon Says Stamp Stencils and Dies!

April 17, 2026

Hi friends! I am back with another post for my Use Your Leftovers focus week! (My husband very generously shared some stomach flu germs with me, so it feels like ages since I’ve posted, but I guess it’s only been two days? Ha-time moves slower than molasses in January when you’re sick to your stomach!) The beautiful new Friendly Blossoms stencil and die duo are such a unique concept: stencils that create a complete A2 patterned panel, customizable to your own color preferences of course, and coordinating dies that also add fabulous debossed texture to the die cuts! I stenciled three complete panels in order to create this two-fer with tons of dimension and shaky bits. Let’s get started with the details on my projects!

For both projects, the main ingredient is the Friendly Blossoms stencil and die set, as well as the gorgeous and serene Pawsitively Saturated Inks trio in Dew, Mist, and Raindrop. These bold, graphic blooms work perfectly with this non-traditional color palette. I kept the colors simple, because the techniques and die cutting were going to be the star of these cards. As I mentioned, I created three separate, full sized A2 panels from these layered stencils, blending the images with soft strokes to keep the color palette tranquil. I used my “stencil station” to create these lickety split; the Craft Tacky Mat keeps things in place so perfectly while I do my stenciling!

For my first project, I wanted to create a shaker card out of the negative space left from die cutting the blooms from the Friendly Blossoms stencil images. Using low-tack tape to hold my dies in place, I carefully die cut the stenciled images from one of the stenciled panels, reserving the actual die cuts themselves for the next project. I backed the resulting window panel with clear acetate, then carefully added a continuous thin strip of foam adhesive around the edges of the openings to be able to create my shaker windows. I flipped the resulting panel over and filled the openings with Mist Sequins Mix before adhering one of the remaining stenciled panels to the back, making sure that the flowers were lined up to their coordinating openings as closely as possible.

After I had finished creating and filling my shaker background, I selected a larger scale sentiment set to create a bold sentiment. I die cut the detail layer of the Be Patient die set using coordinating teal glitter cardstock, backing it with a vellum shadow layer. I also stamped a coordinating greeting from the Be Patient stamp set using Raindrop ink on a thin strip of white cardstock. I popped up both of the sentiment pieces with thin foam adhesive squares, then added an Iridescent White Cord bow for a touch more texture! Such a fun shaker card, I think.

My second card uses the leftovers from the die cut windows! I added foam adhesive to these die cut and debossed images, then placed them in their appropriate spot on the final finished A2 stenciled panel. I love how that little bit of debossing and tiny pop of foam adhesive really makes such an impact on the card front! Can’t let such pretty leftovers go to waste, right?

For the greeting, I die cut the detail layer of the “Cheering you on” die set from some more teal glitter cardstock, backing it with a vellum shadow layer. I stamped a greeting from the Cheering stamp set, again with Raindrop ink, and popped both pieces up on the panel using foam adhesive, creating a double layer for the strip and single layer for the die cut sentiment so that they would pop beautifully from the floral background. Finally, I added a trio of Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for another pop of sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my projects today! These “use your leftovers” cards are so fun and definitely kindling my creativity. I hope you’re enjoying them! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
