Hi friends! I have some projects to share with you today using the brand new Simon Says Stamp September 2026 Card Kit of the Month (click HERE to see the details for the entire kit!). Here’s a sneak peek at the fabulous contents of the kit:

This kit is packed with spectacular products: gorgeous floral embossing folder (with stencils AND dies!), marvelous sentiments, a huge background stamp set with even more gorgeous sentiments and coordinating dies, inks, blending brush, cardstock…. it’s absolutely chock full of fabulous goodies to make crafting super easy and even more fun! Individually, the contents of this kit would retail for nearly $100, but you can get your own for only $44.99 while supplies last (click HERE) or $39.99 for kit subscribers! (Click HERE to see how to become a subscriber!)

When I first started crafting, I absolutely fell in love with the shabby chic style that seemed to be everywhere: distressing, huge junk bows, tons of layers. It took me a minute to determine that it wasn’t 100% my style, however much I loved it. Fast forward to now, with 16 years of cardmaking under my belt, and I have discovered that those styles that I love that I can’t quite pull off traditionally can still be adapted to fit my own, slightly cleaner aesthetic. I used my favorite combination of blue and white to create this pretty pair of cards using lots of goodies from the kit. Let’s get started with the details!

I took advantage of the spectacularly detailed embossing folder for both of my projects, employing two different ink swiping techniques to create different effects!

For my first project, I ran an entire A2 panel of some cornflower blue cardstock through my die cutting machine using the new Morning Glory Vibes Embossing Folder. I also die cut a few individual blooms from the same blue cardstock using the Morning Glory Vibes dies, then ran them through the die cutting machine with the embossing folder as well. To help enhance some of the stunning details, I swiped my Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink pad directly over the raised areas of the full embossed panel and the individual blooms, which creates a two-tone background that showcases those gorgeous details to perfection. After heat embossing and cutting a sentiment from Beyond Measure, I added it to a strip of pearly white cardstock with some thin foam adhesive. I tucked the embossed flowers around the greeting, then enhanced them with some vellum Leafy Sprig die cuts. Finally, I finished things off with some white gel pen dots and sparkling Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems! Isn’t that blue and white color palette simply divine?

My second project uses the same gorgeous Morning Glory Vibes, this time with a reverse color palette. I ran a panel of the same cornflower blue cardstock through my die cutting machine with the embossing folder, then trimmed it down and flipped it over so that the pattern was debossed into the cardstock rather than embossed up. I swiped my white pigment inkpad directly over the flat areas, creating a white background with a blue floral pattern. It’s so fun to see the difference between the two techniques!! I also stamped the crackled background from the new Simply Shabby set, included with the kit, using white pigment ink on an A2 panel of the same blue cardstock. I added some thin strips of pearly white cardstock above and below the debossed strip, then popped up the greeting from Simply Shabby using thin foam adhesive. Finally, I added a few Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems some sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my projects today!

The Simon Says Stamp Card Kits are such an incredible value; the value of the individual elements of each kit equals far more than the $44.99 price tag, so you’re getting incredible bang for your buck. Alstroemeria Blooms, Chocolate Brown, and Opulent Thanks with New Simon Says Stamp!

Hi friends! I am back today with a lush A7 card to share using tons of new goodies from the Simon Says Stamp Every Happiness release! (click HERE to check out the entire release!) As per usual, I was immediately intrigued by the gorgeous, substantial, super detailed floral embossing folders. The new Alstroemeria folder reminded me of my senior prom; my high school bestie had these pretty blooms in her corsage, and I’ve always loved them since then! I couldn’t wait to dive in with some coloring and maybe take it a little far with some super detailed fussy cutting to create this super-sized A7 card. Let’s get started with the details!

To begin, I ran an A2 panel of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using the new Alstroemeria Blooms embossing folder, and when I say that the details are exquisite, I am not exaggerating! I used my prettiest blushy-coral and olive green OLO markers to add detailed color to the image, then added some metallic paint pen on the interior details of the petals, trying to mimic the realistic details of an alstroemeria bloom. Once I had finished coloring the entire image, I used my favorite Recoil Snips to do some elaborate fussy cutting, finishing off the middle sections with a super sharp craft knife to trim as much detail as possible!

After I had finished cutting the image, I decided that it was too lovely to go on a simple A2 card, so I decided to create an A7 card and flip it on it’s side, creating a horizontal finished project. I trimmed down a panel of deep chocolate brown cardstock, coordinating with the pretty brown metallic accents on the blooms themselves, and then die cut an Apricot A2 Notched Rectangles die cut. I love the simplicity of these notched rectangles; they add a touch of elegance and refinement to the card without adding much fussiness. I popped the notched rectangle up on the chocolate brown card front with thin foam adhesive, then arranged the floral image in the corner, allowing some of the bouquet to spill over the edge. Yes, this does make it a bit more difficult to mail, but using an A9 envelope or hand-delivering this project would solve that issue!

For the greeting, I die cut the detail layer of gorgeous new Opulent Thanks from some deep chocolate brown pearlescent cardstock and the shadow layer from some Simon Says Stamp Vellum cardstock, layering them with liquid adhesive. I also die cut the new Best Teacher XL EZ Strips using the XL EZ Strips Rectangles die, cutting all of the sentiment strips in one fell swoop. I used some residual Blush ink from my blending brush to add a subtle bit of blush color to the strip, then tucked both sentiment pieces on my card front using more foam adhesive. Lots of dimension and height on this project! I added a few Creamsicle Embellishments and a sparkling coppery twine bow for good measure. So many textures and metallic touches on this project. I am so pleased with how it came out!

Well, that’s all for my project today! I hope this card shows you that even if an embossing folder is intended for an A2 card, all you need to do to make it work for a larger card is a bit of time and some sharp scisssors. Totally worth it, in my opinion! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Framed Gift with New Simon Says Stamp!

July 21, 2026

Hi friends! I have another gift-y project to share with you today, featuring a gorgeous new floral embossing folder from the Simon Says Stamp Shine On release! (click HERE to see the full release!) Embossing folders are one of the low-cost heroes in my craft room; you can do so much with them without having to invest much money. I particularly love adding detailed coloring to embossed images, adding an incredible amount of depth to the already detailed and dimensional images. I chose to use this sunny yellow flower as a beautiful focal point for a framed gift. Let’s get started on the details for my project!

I am always on the lookout for inexpensive items that I can embellish with my papercrafting supplies, and this simple white 5×7 frame from the dollar store became the perfect background for my colorful Curvy Blossom bloom. I started by running a panel of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using the Curvy Blossom folder. I then selected some gorgeous, sunny yellow OLO markers to add detailed coloring to the image. The combination of the detailed coloring with the incredibly dimensional embossed image is such a winner in my opinion! Once I had finished coloring the image, I used my super sharp scissors to fussy cut the embossed flower.

After I had created the main focal point for the project, I decided to add a bit of shimmer and texture behind the sunny bloom using the new Leafy Greens Stencil. I used masking tape to cover the edges of a panel of white 5×7 cardstock, then placed the new Leafy Greens Stencil over the center and spritzed it with iridescent shimmer spray. The result is an elegant, tone-on-tone backdrop for my pretty bloom!

Before adhering my bloom, I decided to add a frame using the new A7 Arches dies. Arches are everywhere these days, and adding one to help draw the eye to the vibrant bloom seemed like the perfect way to enhance it! I love the larger sizes that are available too; perfect for larger scale projects like this one. I cut the arch from more white cardstock, allowing that vivid yellow and green flower to be the only color on the decorative project. I popped everything up with foam adhesive, using a double layer for the bloom itself, then backed the panel with the glass that came with the frame so that the project would be as dimensional as possible.

Well, that’s all for my project today! I love when I can use my papercrafting products to create home decor and gifts, don’t you? Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!

Simon Says Stamp August 2026 Card Kit of the Month: Made to Flourish!

July 14, 2026

Hi friends! The new Simon Says Stamp August 2026 Card Kit is now available for preorder, and it’s such a stunner! With summertime comes verdant gardens and vibrant flowers, and the Made to Flourish kit pays homage to them so beautifully! (Click HERE to see all of the details on the kit!)

Here’s a sneak peek of the kit’s contents:

The amount of product in this kit is truly incredible; not only do you receive a fabulous new embossing folder, standalone die set, ephemera, and papers, but you also receive a gorgeous 6×8 stamp set with coordinating dies. Incredible value, right? The items retail for $125 when purchased individually, but you can purchase this amazing kit (while supplies last!) for only $44.99 (click HERE) or $39.99 for kit subscribers! (Click HERE to see how to become a subscriber!)

Sometimes, I find myself in a bit of a color rut, and when that happens, I like to pull out my Pinterest boards and look for an inspiring color palette. This orchid, peach, and blush color palette really spoke to me, so I selected several shades of colored cardstock from my stash and decided to use that as the creative kickoff point for my projects! I love pairing colored pencils with colored cardstock, so I knew that I would be pairing the florals from that gorgeous new Made to Flourish stamp set with my colored pencils and pretty pink cardstock!

For my first card, I chose to focus on that spectacular bloom from the new Brightest Blooms Embossing Folder, highlighting the details with some ink blending and sparkling watercolor gilding! I ran a panel of lavender-pink cardstock through my die cutting machine using the Brightest Blooms Embossing Folder. I then used a blending brush to lightly blend Fairy Pawsitively Saturated Ink around the edges of the embossed panel, keeping the embossed image clean.

After I had finished blending, I used iridescent glitter watercolors to “gild” the details of the flower and foliage, adding some lovely sparkle to the focal point. I also splattered some more sparkling watercolor around the blended edges, covering the main flower with a piece of scrap paper to keep the splatters from landing on the flower. Once I had finished adding the shimmering splatters, I die cut a simple greeting using the new add-on sentiment die set called Darling Script Greetings. I cut the detail layer from some orchid glitter cardstock, then backed it with a vellum shadow layer. I used thin strips of foam adhesive to pop up the sentiment, then added a pretty pink twine bow and some Peachy Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for additional sparkle!

For my second card, I kept that gorgeous orchid, peach, and blush colored cardstock palette, this time putting my colored pencils to use to create a lovely vase of flowers! I stamped a crock and one of the lovely bouquets from Made to Flourish using white pigment ink on the same lovely pale orchid cardstock used for the first card. I find that the white pigment ink works beautifully with no-line coloring using colored pencils on colored cardstock; the ink gets absorbed nicely into the colored pencil coloring! The key to coloring small images with colored pencils is a good pencil sharpener so that your points are always nice and crisp! Once I had finished coloring the crock and the bouquet, I used the included coordinating dies to cut the images out, using a pen knife to cut a slit in the crock so that I could place my bouquet within the vase itself.

After I had finished coloring the main focal point, I decided to frame the image in with one of the new Hand Tied Frame images, an add-on to the main kit. I love how whimsical these frames are; the bow at the top is designed to be part of the single die cut, but they also have included a standalone bow, as well! I die cut the large frame and the individual bow from darker orchid cardstock, pulling in more of the colors from the penciled bouquet onto my card front. I used alcohol markers to enhance some of the shadows on the standalone bow, deepening the orchid and adding some dimension.

I blended a little halo of color behind the bouquet with a blending brush and some Fairy Pawsitively Saturated Ink, splattering the background with some more iridescent glitter watercolors for more magic and whimsy. I adhered the frame with liquid adhesive, then arranged my bouquet and white embossed sentiment die cuts, grounding them with a strip of pearlescent blush cardstock. Finally, I popped up the standalone bow with some thin strips of foam adhesive and added some sparkling Peachy Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for one last touch of sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my projects today!

Midnight Hellebores with Colored Pencils and Simon Says Stamp!

July 8, 2026

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon! *I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links at no extra cost to you. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

Hi friends! I have a detailed, dramatic card to share with you today featuring a gorgeous new embossing folder from the Shine On release (click HERE to see the full release!), called Peony Trio Embossing Folder. To my eyes, these lovely blooms reminded me of hellebores, so I decided to go with a dramatic lavender bloom on a deep navy backdrop. While I usually reach for my alcohol markers to color embossing folders, I decided to use my colored pencils with colored cardstock to create this bold and dramatic project. Let’s get started with the details!

To begin, I ran the Peony Trio Embossing Folder with an A2 panel of Soft Navy cardstock. I think there is something so magical about adding the detailed and intense embossing to richly colored cardstock! To capitalize on the deep blue background, I used colored pencils to add detailed coloring to the embossed images. The opaque colored pencils pop so beautifully on the deep blue backdrop.

After I had finished adding color to the blooms and foliage, I added some details with opaque acrylic paint markers to the flower stamens and some dots to the hellebore petals. Pairing the opaque coloring mediums with the deep blue cardstock is so striking to my eyes!

For the greeting, I kept things simple so that the coloring would continue to be the star of the show. I die cut the detail layer of the Giggle Thank You from some pearlescent white cardstock and layered it on a vellum shadow layer with liquid adhesive. I popped the sentiment die cut up with some thin strips of foam adhesive behind the solid die cuts to hide it. Finally, I added some Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for a little extra sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my project today! Don’t you just love the look of the colored pencils on colored cardstock? It reminds me of pastels! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
