Good morning! Today is the start of the new challenge for Where Creativity Meets C9! (Also… have you seen Concord and 9th‘s new release!? Oh my peas. Those unicorns?! Want!) Our challenge this month is:
Embossing. Dry embossing, heat embossing, emboss resist, etc, etc. I chose to do some double heat embossing with the help of my MISTI and some gorgeous Concord and 9th stamps.
To start, I stamped my all-time favorite image from Concord and 9th: that stunning floral spray from Hello Lovely, stamped with Versafine ink and heat embossed using White Satin Pearl embossing powder to create a pearlescent charcoal look. I watercolored the entire think with my Zig markers and a damp paintbrush. I love all of the incredibly different looks you can achieve with this one stamp just by changing up the color scheme! Here, I’ve chosen a cool blue and hot pink color combination. So bright and yummy!
After I had finished watercoloring the main image, I used my MISTI to do some double heat embossing. The texture on my watercolor paper can make heat embossing solid images a challenge, and embossing over an embossed image can also create issues. But, heat embossing the image not just once, but twice, can usually create a nice, smooth embossed image. I placed my sentiment from Fill In Phrases (love how massive those sentiments are) on my card front, then closed my MISTI. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with Silver Sparkle embossing powder, then placed it in my MISTI again and repeated the process. The addition of the second layer of embossing powder smooths everything out and makes it really pop.
I trimmed down the watercolored panel just slightly and mounted it on a turquoise card base with some dimensional adhesive.
Now, it’s your turn! Simply use some form of embossing with your Concord and 9th products to create a project, then link it up to our blog post to be entered to win a $25 shopping spree at Concord and 9th! One randomly selected winner will receive a $25 gift certificate, donated by the ever generous and amazing Concord and 9th, and one other entry will be chosen to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge! Have fun, and good luck!
Popped in to say this card is so very beautiful x
