Concord and 9th Feature Friday, Volume 2!

Good morning! Today is the second installment of the Where Creativity Meets C9‘s Feature Friday for Concord and 9th’s 3rd Birthday Month! Today, we are focusing on the So Happy For You stamps and dies. I’ve combined these pretty, simple florals with some cool blues and greens and grays to create a pair of cards. Let’s get started with the details!

For my first card, I created a custom floral pattern for the background of my card base using the new So Happy For You stamp set. I started with my largest floral image, stamping it randomly across the card front, then moved to my next largest floral image in a different shade of blue, then foliage, etc, until I had created a pretty flowery background. I then used the Posie Fill-In coordinating dies to die cut “FRIEND” from the center of the floral background, reserving all of the pieces to create a peekaboo die cut sentiment. I die cut the “friend” three more times from plain white scrap card stock, adhered them all together, then nestled them in the negative space of the card front’s die cut “friend.” The dimension added by the extra die cuts helps to emphasize the greeting. I added the rest of the stamped greeting from Posie Fill-In on a strip of white card stock, then popped it up with dimensional foam tape. The final step was to add some gems for sparkle and texture.

For my second project, I wanted to create an almost farmhouse themed card using the new Shiplap Sentiments stamp set combined with the pretty florals from So Happy For You. I began by stamping the Shiplap Sentiments background using just a regular stamping block onto some plain white card stock. I then die cut several of the blooms and foliage from the So Happy For You combo from plain white card stock and stamped them in the same colors from the previous card. I layered them all in the corner of the shiplap background, adding a greeting from Shiplap Sentiments with foam tape. A few more jewels finished it off.

Well, that’s all for me today! Be sure to check out the rest of the new birthday release from Concord and 9th… soo many fantastic new sets, including a floral that I’ve absolutely been swooning over! They also have some fantastic sales going on in their Sale section! I’d highly encourage you to go check it out! Thanks so much for dropping by today. Have a marvelous weekend!
