Good morning! Holiday crafting has been in full swing in my office the last few weeks… so many wonderful holiday releases coming out, including the newest Essentials by Ellen release from Ellen Hutson. My favorite set from the new release is the newest addition to the Mondo Florals line…. Mondo Holly! I couldn’t wait to pair it with the older-but-still-a-classic Mondo Poinsettia. Let’s get started on the details!
I began by heat embossing two poinsettias and foliage from Mondo Poinsettia and one of the massive sprigs of holly from Mondo Holly using gold embossing powder onto some Arches Cold Press watercolor paper. Next, I used Candy Apple red, Emerald City, Licorice, Sunshine, and Clementine Orange to watercolor all of the images. (Look at how super concentrated that red is! Gorgeous.)
After the watercolored images had dried, I used the coordinating dies from Mondo Holly and Mondo Poinsettia to die cut them out. I arranged them in a cluster at the top of a white card base and adhered them with dimensional foam adhesive, then trimmed off the bits that were hanging over the edge to create a canopy at the top of the card base.
I added the greeting from Mondo Holly at the bottom of the card base using black ink, then added a few sequins here and there amongst the florals.
Well, what do you think? I know, it’s so hard to get into the holiday spirit for cardmaking when it’s so sunny and warm (or hot, depending on where you are), but the latest release from Ellen Hutson will help you get in the Christmas spirit! New stamps always help spark my creativity haha. I hope you’ll check out the newest release. Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous day!
Great card, colours are so vibrant & festive. I’m not the most floral of crafters, more because they never look 3D enough for me but I will continue to practice. If you are starting your festive cards may I be one of the early ones to wish season’s greetings !
