Hi there! Today, the latest Essentials by Ellen release is now live, and we are celebrating with a blog hop chock full of inspiration, as well as prizes! You should have arrived here from Carolyn’s blog, and your next stop is Brandi’s blog. These new products are absolutely beautiful. I know most of us are elbow-deep in Christmas card prep, but these new sets are beautifully happy and springy! I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!
For my first project, I created a pretty-in-pink shaker card using the new Be the Change stamp set. I began with a slightly smaller than A2 panel of pink cardstock and die cut one of the butterflies using the Be the Change dies from the center of the panel. I used some blender brushes to blend some Magenta ink around the edge of the die cut, then backed it with some acetate to create a shaker. I also stamped a greeting from Be the Change using the same Magenta ink.
I placed a full sized A2 panel of the same pink cardstock in my Misti, placing the shaker front over the top, then used that to place the butterfly stamp in the proper spot in the Misti. I added some sequins and closed up the shaker card. Simple, but so pretty! I think this would be really pretty to make in other colors, too!
For my second project, I wanted to do some Copic coloring with the new In The Weeds stamp set. I began by stamping the floral cluster from In The Weeds using Intens-ified Black Ink on some Copic-friendly white cardstock. I then used my Copic markers in shades of cool blues, purples, and greens. I also blended a bit of pale blue ink behind the florals to create a bit of sky.
Next, I die cut and stamped a butterfly from Be the Change and colored it with the same Copic shades. I die cut a white frame using the Oh Happy Day shaker, then adhered it to the floral panel using foam adhesive. I stamped a greeting from In The Weeds on a rectangle of white card stock, then adhered the greeting and the Copic butterfly using foam adhesive.
