Hi there! I thought I’d share my post from the Pinkfresh Studio blog from today. I usually try to keep my holiday cards as clean and simple as possible for easy mailing, but sometimes more is better, right? I kept the color scheme fairly traditional, but with two completely different aesthetics. Let’s get started with all of the details!
For my first project, I used the darling new Skiing By stamps and dies. I began by stamping several of the images using some very pale ink on white Copic-friendly cardstock. I then used my Copic markers to color the images in.
Next, I die cut the mountains and snow drifts, cutting the snowy portions from white glitter cardstock to add a bit of glitz to the card front. (You can never have too many sparkles on a Christmas card, right?)
After I’d adhered all of the die cuts using liquid and foam adhesive, I used a blending brush to add some Sky Blue ink to add some sky to the card base. I also stamped a greeting from Skiing By on a strip of paper and added it to the card front using some more foam adhesive. Super cute, but still with a trendy graphic style that I think is darling!
For my second card, I did lots and lots of layering using several different standalone dies, all from non-holiday releases! I began by die cutting the Geo Floral background die from some beautiful red foil cardstock, which I layered on a white A2 card base. I also die cut an Essentials: Braided Tag from some heavyweight vellum.
Next, I die cut a Leafy Wreaths die from some bright green cardstock and layered it on top of the vellum tag. I then die cut a sparkling JOY from white glitter cardstock using the Adore Alpha die set. I layered the letters over the center of the wreath using liquid adhesive, then hid some foam adhesive on the back of the tag, adding it to the foiled card base. The final step was to add a red and white twine bow and some sparkling “berries.”
