Hi friends! The new Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Moments release is now live, and it’s filled with all kinds of gorgeous springtime goodies that are sure to inspire! (Check out the full Beautiful Moments release HERE!) I am always up for a good excuse to pull out my felt, thread, and beads, and the darling new Stitching Bunny die from the Beautiful Moments release was just too adorable to resist. I created a piece of pretty springtime (or Easter!) decor, adding some pretty flowers and foliage to the soft bunny. Let’s get started with the details!
To begin, I die cut the precious Stitching Bunny from creamy ivory felt twice. I adhered them together with small dots of felt glue. When I’m out and about, I’m always on the lookout for inexpensive cloth that I can use for embroidery projects, and I found some sets of these beautiful mauve linen napkins on clearance for .99! I thought that the pretty ticking stripes coupled with the linen texture would add some beautiful visual weight behind my bunny. I used coordinating ivory embroidery floss to stitch the bunny to the embroidery hoop, adding some warm pink die cut felt details to the ears and toe beans and adding those with more felt glue.
After I had finished adding all of the bunny components to my hoop, I die cut some springtime flowers and foliage to create a lovely little nest in which he could nestle down! I die cut some foliage using the Abundant Leaves, layered flowers from the Exotic Blooms set, and a couple of larger flowers using the Layered Dandy Flower. I arranged the foliage around the bunny, adhering it with more felt glue, then adding the flowers. I made sure to use small dots of glue to adhere each piece so that the dried glue wouldn’t interfere with the beaded embellishments that I intended to add!
After everything had dried, I stitched on some beads for eyes, as well as some creamy whiskers. I also added lots of beads and floral sequins to the floral arrangement, creating some shine and texture on my springtime decor!
