Good morning! I am back with another Honey Bee Stamps Bee Bold release project. Today’s project focuses on two new sets: Bee Bold Alpha Dies and Chin Up, Buttercup stamp set. These chunky new alphabet dies are perfect for creating those unique, custom sentiments… and the Chin Up, Buttercup set is going to be a staple on my desk, for sure. You know me and flowers!! And these are SO fun to color. All of the new products peeked today on the Honey Bee Blog will be available for purchase Thursday night, 8/2 at midnight central time. Let’s get started with my card for today!
I wanted to create an almost washed out card with just pops of black to really show off the new Bee Bold Alpha Dies. I started by stamping a little floral pattern around the edge of my card front using the new Chin Up Buttercup stamp set with Copic-friendly black ink. Next, I used my Copic markers in super pale shades of yellow and mint to color the flowers to create an almost washed out effect.
To create the greeting, I first lined up my dies on my gridded craft mat to ensure that they would be straight (I’m really annoyingly particular about straight lines), then picked the dies up with one long piece of washi tape and die cut them from the colored floral panel, making sure to reserve the centers of R and D. I die cut the same letters from black card stock, as well.
I adhered the full card front panel to the A2 card, then inserted the black die cuts in the negative space, adding in the centers of R and D that had been reserved. I adhered the patterned die cuts slightly offset to create a black “frame” to help emphasize that cool die cut sentiment.
The final steps were some bling… I added some Cupcake rhinestones to the card front, then added a liberal amount of sparkle pen to the white patterned letter die cuts.
Well, that’s all for me today! Be sure to check out the Honey Bee Blog for all of the details on the new products being shown today… the design team has some amazing inspiration to whet your appetite!! Keep an eye out all week long for more sneak peeks and projects.
Thanks so much for dropping by, and have a marvelous day!
