Good morning! As today is the 9th of the month, we are celebrating Concord and 9th’s new release (ahem, please do yourself a favor and go drool over those new stamp sets. Buffalo plaid. Need I say more???) The 9th also marks the start of a new challenge over at Where Creativity Meets C9. This month, we’re focusing on “Shades of C9,” meaning you can find inspiration in the beautiful shades of aqua and turquoise in the Concord and 9th logo!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have seen a sneak peek of my project on Instagram earlier this weekend. I started by heat embossing the pretty florals from You Are Here on some watercolor paper using silver embossing powder. Next, I watercolored the flowers using Shimmerz shimmering watercolor pots in shades of blue and green.
For the greeting, I die cut the celebrate and you from All About You dies in glitzy silver and shimmery teal papers. I glued the celebrate to a strip of vellum that I flagged on the end and popped up the You with dimensional foam adhesive. I trimmed the watercolored panel down a bit and added a strip of the same shimmery teal card stock on the side of my A2 card base. Finally, I scattered a few sequins from my stash across the front of the card.
Now, it’s your turn! You have until October 29 to enter a project in to the Shades of C9 challenge to be eligible to win a gift certificate to Concord and 9th, generously provided by Angie and Greg from Concord and 9th! You can find all of the details and rules for the challenge here. Have fun and good luck!!
