Hi there! I’m popping in with a quick project and post today sharing some inspiration using July’s absolutely darling Large Die of the Month from Spellbinders, as well as some sale information! I love bicycles (though I’m not quite coordinated or graceful enough to ride one very well), but I love the carefree imagery they conjure. To ride a bicycle is to feel the wind on your face, the sweet scent of a summer evening’s breeze, lazy spring evenings… basically, childhood and all of the sweet freedom that comes with it. I also love the idea of using bicycles at weddings. It makes me think of the happy couple blissfully riding off into their new life, and that’s what I’ve tried to convey with this project today. Let’s get started with the details on this card, and then I will share the super amazing sale information!
For today’s project using the July Large Die of the Month, I drew my inspiration from those beautiful vintage bicycles that are so popular right now, the pretty aqua ones with the creamy white tires and bright chrome accents. I began by die cutting the components of the bicycle using aqua, creamy white, and silver foil card stocks. I also die cut several flowers and lots of foliage to create a pretty basket full of flowers, perfect as wedding decor! I adhered all of the bike pieces together, leaving the floral arrangement to be adhered to the card itself.
Next, I die cut a thin rectangular frame using an ooooold Spellbinders die set that I’ve had basically since I started crafting. I blended some teal ink in the top corner of an aqua A2 card base, then adhered the rectangle to the aqua card base using liquid adhesive. I added the bicycle to the card front using foam tape, then created a flowy bouquet of flowers in the textured basket. (I love that the kit comes with embossing plates to add texture to the bicycle basket!)
After I’d adhered all of the die cuts to the card front, I stamped a greeting on a thin strip of white cardstock and added it to the card front with foam tape. I added a few gems for sparkle!
