Floral Bouquets with Simon Says Stamp Splendor!

Hi friends! The new Simon Says Stamp Splendor release is available, and the two-day blog hop, filled with inspiration and prizes, is in full swing! I have shared a few projects putting the new buttery yellow Trio 27 inks to good use, an unexpected color palette for me. I have another project to share with you today, this time using a soothing cool mint-and-lavender color palette, more typical of my own color palette. Let’s get started with the details!

To start, I die cut the new Fine Floral Stem die set twice from white Hammermill cardstock. (This die ran out of stock very quickly, but be sure to add your email address to the “notify me” button on the listing so that you get an email as soon as it’s back in stock!) I then used OLO markers to color the images, coloring the blooms a lovely shade of lavender blue, and keeping the foliage and stems simple with some pale aqua with gray undertones. Once I had finished coloring everything, I assembled the two-layered flowers, adhering them with liquid adhesive and adding the floral centers. I wanted to add a little extra interest to the flowers, so I used some sparkling handmade watercolors from my stash to add shimmer to the flower centers and the leaves. The sparkle is so difficult to catch in a photo, but it shimmers like crazy in real life!

For the background, I centered the Domed Arches Mask and Stencils over a panel of Sea Glass cardstock and used a blending brush to blend Concord and 9th Sea Glass ink, creating almost an arched “window” to ground my floral bouquet. While the mask was in place, I splattered the blended area with some of the same sparkling silver watercolors that I used to accent the flowers. I trimmed the panel down slightly and matted it on a full size A2 panel of Juniper cardstock, leaving a thin contrasting green border around the edges.

Before assembling my individual bouquets into one large floral bouquet, I die cut the Grand Corner Leaves die from some more Juniper cardstock to fill in some of the blank spaces in the bouquet. I snipped the individual leaves off of the Grand Corner die cuts and began arranging the flowers and foliage, creating a full bouquet. I popped the die cuts up with foam adhesive, then added a sparky silver twine bow to “tie” them. For the greeting, I foiled a couple of the Lucky CZ Sentiment Cards using silver toner foil and popped them up over the bouquet using more foam squares. I love that this sentiment is so simple and would work for so many occasions!
