Hi friends! I am back with another project for my Use Your Leftovers feature week! Remember THIS card? Well, I used the leftover Modern Teardrop die cut and the gorgeous Boho Flowers embossing folder as my inspiration point for this second peachy Mother’s Day card! Whenever I make a die cut window, I always try to reserve the die cut itself so that I can embellish it to create a quick and easy card. Let’s get started with the details on this peach monochromatic pretty!
To create this peachy project, I pulled out the new Apricot and Seashell cardstocks from the In My Heart release! (Click HERE to see the entire new release!). These gorgeous peachy-blush shades are seriously my new favorite colors, and I can’t seem to stop using them on basically everything! I already had the solid Apricot Modern Teardrops die cut from the previous project, so I decided to add some subtle floral texture behind it with the new Boho Flowers embossing folder. I ran an A2 panel of Seashell cardstock through my die cutting machine with the Boho Flowers embossing folder, as well as a trio of die cut flowers created using the coordinating Boho Flowers die set. The detail on these individual flowers is absolutely stunning. I am in love with the effect these standalone flowers adds to a project!
To add some extra visual heft to my focal point, I used some blush pearlescent cardstock to add some die cut foliage, created using the older Leafy Sprig die set. The simplicity of these foliage dies works beautifully with the exceptional texture created with the embossed flowers and embossed background. I knew that I wanted to offset the leftover Modern Teardrop die cut on my embossed card front, so I trimmed one edge using my trimmer and adhered it to my embossed card front with thin foam adhesive squares.
For the greeting, I die cut the classic Happy Mother’s Day from some sparkling rose gold glitter cardstock. I popped the sentiment die cut up with very thin strips of thin foam adhesive, then arranged the embossed floral die cuts and foliage around the sentiment, framing it beautifully. Finally, I added a few Peachy Pawsitively Dazzling Gems and a delicate blush polka dot bow to the card front for a bit of added sparkle and texture!
Well, that’s all for my second Use Your Leftovers project. I think this is one of my favorite cards that I’ve made this year!
