November 27, 2020

Hi there! I hope you’re having a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. This year looks a little different for us, not just with the addition of our two baby boys, but our celebration is much smaller this year due to the pandemic. We celebrated at home with just the six of us, a relatively quiet meal (how quiet can it get with two seven year olds and two seven month olds?), and my hubby shared some of his homemade pies with family and friends. I hope you had a Thanksgiving feast of your own and some quality zoom time with those you love!

Now, one of the best parts of Thanksgiving is all of the fabulous crafty shopping and deals to be had! So many of our favorite companies are having some great deals, so if you are looking to buy yourself some pretty stamps and dies or buy some gifts for crafty friends, check out these great deals!

Waste not, want not! Celebrating Ellen Hutson!

November 24, 2017

Good morning! Happy day-after-Thanksgiving! I hope you all ate plenty of yumminess yesterday… and maybe are getting your shop on today. 😉 (I  have more details about that at the bottom of my post! Stay tuned!) I showed you my holiday projects using the bits and pieces in a post a little earlier this week, and this project is along the same vein. Remember the 25 Days of Christmas Tags series the Where Creativity Meets C9 team participated in? I created a panel using the Floral Fill In stamps for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags and was able to make a card from the teeny bits and pieces!

I started by stamping the beautiful Blooms Fill In background from Concord and 9th (EH|C9) with Mountain Mist ink from Altenew, then added the “fill-in” bits with Cosmic Berry, Purple Wine, and Puffy Heart, then added the leaves with Volcano Lake and Lagoon inks. I die cut the two full bouquets using the coordinating dies (C9|EH) (which are super clever and include the lovely inked edge!), which left me several partial bouquets on the full panel. I was left with basically nothing on the stamped panel, but I had plenty of little floral bits to make a card!

I had also heat embossed the Plaid Background stamp (C9|EH) using white embossing powder for the background of the tag, and had a half of a panel left. I trimmed it down, then added two strips of pearlescent mint card stock from my stash on the edges. To arrange my bits of bouquet behind the panel, I first traced the edges of where my panel would sit on the gray card front, so that I would know where to arrange my flowers, then placed a piece of Scor Tape and adhered my flowers down. I added some silver glitter sprigs of foliage, also from the Floral Fill In die set (C9|EH), to add some sparkle and texture.

For the greeting, I used the Season of Cheer (EH|C9) dies from Concord and 9th cut from some silver foil card stock. For a finishing touch, I added a few Oyster Grey Nuvo Drops  here and there amongst my blooms. I thought the sentiment would be perfect to help celebrate Ellen Hutson’s 11th anniversary sale! Ellen Hutson is celebrating 11 amazing years in this industry with a fabulous sale… 20% off (nearly) everything in the store!! I have been lucky enough to collaborate several times with Ellen Hutson, and I can personally attest to how well they treat their customers, as well as their guests. When I’m shopping, it always helps me to know that I am appreciated as a customer, and Ellen Hutson certainly does take care of their customers. Be sure to use the coupon code celebration17 during checkout to get your 20% discount!! Congratulations to the Ellen Hutson family on your anniversary! I hope you get to celebrate accordingly! 🙂

Have a marvelous day, friends! Enjoy all of your shopping and turkey leftovers!

Making the most of it. (plus *Black Friday Sales*!!!)

November 22, 2017

Hi there! Have you seen the Concord and 9th Floral Fill In stamp and die set? I love sets that can be used in super creative ways, and this one definitely fits that bill. I was able to create four cards very quickly using just this one set!! Great for mass production, which is perfect for this time of year. I used this stamp set to create my cards for the Where Creativity Meets C9 project for this month’s group post, and was able to create another card from some of the leftover bits from those beautiful floral panels!

To start, I used my MISTI to stamp the large background panel from Floral Fill In three times on an A2 panel of card stock using Altenew’s Emerald ink (SSS|EH). It’s the perfect Christmas green, don’t you think? I used a regular stamp block to stamp the rest of the details on the panels, adding Ruby Red (SSS|EH) to the large flowers, Velvet (SSS|EH) to the berries, Volcano Lake (SSS|EH) to the leaves, and Morning Frost (SSS|EH) to the smaller flowers to add a shadow to a “white” flower. I repeated this process with all three panels. These flowers are super easy to line up, and even if they’re not perfect, it still fits with the hand-drawn aesthetic! Love it.

After I had stamped all of the background panels, I used the coordinating dies to cut one floral cluster from each background panel.

After I had die cut the floral clusters, I placed them in the center of a white card base in a cluster. After popping them up with dimensional adhesive. I used the “merry” die that was included as the free gift from Concord and 9th with your October purchase… love that font! I die cut it in black, adhered it to the front of the floral cluster, then added some Spectrum Noir Shimmer Pen  and Nuvo Crystal Glaze. To finish off the greeting, I used the Holiday Hellos stamp set from The Stamp Market. I love using holiday song lyrics for Christmas cards, and the simple font on that set combined with the beautiful calligraphy of the die were a match made in heaven!

The final touch was to add a twine bow and some Disco Ball jewels  to add even more sparkle and texture.

Well, that’s all for this project! I know you’re probably inundated with sales pitches, but I just wanted to let you know about a few sales coming up this weekend. First, to get the products I used in this project, visit Concord and 9th’s Black Friday Sale! No code needed, just do your shopping and your discount will be reflected at checkout! Sale starts on Friday!

Honey Bee Stamps is having an amaaaaaazing sale for Black Friday. Check out the details:

Today and tomorrow, you can get 30% off of all Honey Bee brand products with the code EARLY30, then starting Friday, you can get 25% off of all Honey Bee products with coupon code THANKFUL25. PLUS! There’s a free gift for the first 300 orders!!

I will be back later this week with another project and some more sales for you to enjoy!! If there’s one thing I’ve learned this year, (without sounding too cliche) it’s that life is short and happiness can be fleeting, so enjoy every moment with your precious loved ones. I hope you have an utterly marvelous holiday with your family and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!
