Hi there! I am so happy to be taking part in Altenew’s October Build A Flower blog hop! You should have arrived here from Nathalie DeSousa‘s blog, and your next stop is Nenette S. Madero‘s blog. This month, the featured flower is the Fuchsia. This large stamp set features both an outline option (great for coloring, as I’ve done today!) or Altenew’s classic stamp layers.

There are a few options for receiving a discount on this beautiful new layering stamp set. You can become a Build A Flower subscriber, which will offer you a guaranteed set for each Build A Flower set released each month, and at a specially discounted rate of $29.99! You can also purchase one of the Build A Flower/Ink bundles, which come with inks specially matched to create perfectly layered stamped images.
My project today draws directly from the name of the flower itself: fuchsia. I love the color fuchsia; it conjures up a shade of deep pink with just a hint of purple to cool it off.

I began by stamping the line-drawn images from Build A Flower: Fuchsia using some Copic-friendly black ink on white cardstock. After perusing Pinterest for a unique fuchsia flower color combination, I used my Copic markers to add color to the individual images, finally die cutting them with their coordinating dies.

After I’d finished coloring and die cutting the flowers, I cut an A2 panel of deep pink cardstock, then used blender brushes to blend Altenew’s Midnight Violet ink in the upper left hand corner. I also die cut a Frilly Frame die from the same shade of deep pink cardstock, adhering it over the top of the ink blended corner.

I arranged the flowers over the top of the doily frame using foam adhesive to create lots of dimension. To coordinate with the white edge around the die cuts, I white heat embossed a greeting from Build A Flower: Fuchsia on some more deep pink cardstock, which I then trimmed out and added to the card front using foam adhesive. The final touch was to add some pretty sparkling crystals to the card front to add some extra shimmer.
Well, that’s all for my project today!
