Stenciled Card Set with Pawsitively Saturated Inks!

Hi friends! My husband’s grandfather passed away a few days ago at 93 after a very busy and rich life, and I have found it so helpful to have a creative release. My cards have all had relatively somber sentiments, appropriate to my frame of mind, and I have a trio of cards to share with you today using a new-to-me stencil set: Mod Layering Leaves stencil. I took advantage of some of the more muted, but still gorgeous, color palettes that have recently been released in the Pawsitively Saturated ink line to create these projects. Let’s get started with the details!

For my first card, I began by creating a background using the Mod Layering Leaves stencil with the Dew, Mist, Raindrop Pawsitively Saturated Inks. I used the lightest ink with the large blending brush for the background stencil, adding a bit of extra dimension by lightly brushing the medium ink towards the bottom-center of each “leaf.” I layered the second stencil over the top and blended the darkest ink to allow the lovely pattern to be quite crisp and distinct.

After creating my background panel, I trimmed down a strip each of teal glitter cardstock and Adriatic cardstock, orienting them to the left on my patterned background. Above the accent strips, I added a die cut greeting, cut from Adriatic cardstock and vellum with the You’re In My Thoughts die. I popped the sentiment up with foam adhesive, then added some simple floral accents, cut using the Aurora Blooms dies and accented the floral center with some pretty gems.

For my second card, I created a similar background using the Mod Layering Leaves stencil with the muted purples of the Petunia, Pansy, Aster Pawsitively Saturated Inks trio. I oriented the pattern to create a horizontal card front again, this time accenting around the edge with a frame cut using the A2 Thin Frames Dies and Simon Says Stamp Metallic Rose Gold cardstock.

For the greeting, I die cut the I Think the World of You die from some deep plum cardstock and more vellum, popping the greeting up in the center of the metallic rose gold frame using foam adhesive. I accented the greeting with some more flowers from the Aurora Blooms die set and added a bit more sparkle with some more gems in the flower centers.

For my final card, I blended the Mod Layering Leaves stencil in a vertical orientation using the Cabbage, Artichoke, and Kale Pawsitively Saturated Ink trio. I love that this pattern looks beautiful whether you use it horizontally or vertically! I accented the patterned background with a strip of Simon Says Stamp Midnight Green cardstock and a thinner strip of coordinating green glitter cardstock, orienting them to the right side of the card.

For the greeting, I die cut the Wish I Could Hug You from Simon Says Stamp Midnight Green cardstock and more vellum, layering the two together with liquid adhesive. The larger format of this sentiment die set works perfectly with the vertical orientation of the background pattern. I accented this last card with a few more delicate blooms from the Aurora Blooms die set, finishing everything off with a few more sparkling gems.
