Hi friends! I have a super fun project to share with you today that combines my love of pretty packaging with my love of creating coordinating gift sets! Bows are eeeeeeverywhere right now: big bows, little bows, velvet bows, silky bows… and the new Simon Says Stamp Sending Cheer Release (Click HERE to see everything!) has an absolutely spectacular new embossing folder + coordinating die set called Beautiful Bows featuring bows, bows, and more bows. I have created a gift box with matching, giftable tags inside, all topped off with a big fat velvet bow. Let’s get started with the details!

One of my favorite ways to use the 3D Embossing Folder images is with my OLO Markers. The combination of the detailed shadowing and raised texture creates such an incredible effect, almost velvety to look at. I paired a full Beautiful Bows embossed panel with my pink and purple OLO Markers to create this fun patterned background with tons of texture. Once I had finished coloring all of the bows, I trimmed the panel slightly to fit proportionally on the top of my kraft gift box, then added a slightly larger Plum Glitter mat and an even slightly larger piece of plain white cardstock, cut to fit the dimensions of the top of the box. I layered all of the pieces on top of the gift box with super strong double sided tape to create a pretty gift box! If I’d had a bit more time, I would have painted the box a coordinating shade of pink or purple, but c’est la vie.

To create the tag portion of the gift set, I used some purple and pink papers from my stash to die cut the Gift Card Pocket Envelope, Pine & Post Gift Card Envelope, and Rounded Tags dies. I love creating coordinating-but-not-matching sets, and so I selected cardstocks that would work beautifully with the color palette from the bow panel on the front.

Once I had completed the tag bases, I die cut the three coordinating Beautiful Bows dies from more white cardstock first and then embossed the individual bows in their proper spots in the embossing folder, then used the same shades of purple and pink OLO Markers to add color to the individual die cuts. I selected some Plum Glitter Cardstock and a few scraps of coordinating pink cardstock to add some simple embellishments to the tag and envelope fronts. I added a sparkling pink twine loop to the tag and then placed all of the pieces in the box.

Once I had filled the gift box, I used my glue gun to adhere some 1.5″ wide magenta velvet ribbon from my stash, glueing it securely to the bottom piece of the box, then tying a big fat bow on the top. I think the combination is so pretty and could potentially be used for other occasions besides Christmas! (My mom would say that pink and purple are not Christmas, anyway. Ha!) And that big pink bow is just so festive. Who wouldn’t love a tree covered with big pink velvet bows??
Well, that’s all for my projects today! I just love taking non-traditional images and creating memorable and unique holiday projects. If traditional holiday colors are more your style, this entire set would look lovely in a variety of traditional color palettes, I think.
