Hi there! Today, I have the pleasure of being a stop on the Altenew February Stamp+Die release blog hop! You should have arrived from Erum Tasneem, and your next stop is Jaycee Gaspar. You can also head over to the Altenew Card Blog for the full hop list! There are so many fun new products being released today, including stamps, dies, stencils, a new Cutting Mat, and a beautiful new set of Artist’s Watercolor Pan Paints. I have two projects for you today, so let’s get started with the details!

For my first project, I used the new Ornamental Bliss stamps and dies along with the Quilted Circle cover plate die to create a sympathy card. I always find sympathy cards to be a bit tricky; you don’t want to add too much embellishment, but you don’t want it to be too simplistic, either. I began by stamping the main image from Ornamental Bliss twice using black ink, then added details in a pretty gray and purple color scheme using dye inks from Altenew. (You could also color this one using markers or watercolors, if you had the time.) I was amazed at how much detail you get in these images, particularly considering how quickly they were created!

I die cut the finished stamped images using the coordinating dies, then stamped a greeting from the Ornamental Bliss stamp set on a strip of white cardstock using some more black ink.

For the background, I die cut the Circle Quilt Cover Plate die from some white cardstock, then layered it on a white A2 card base. I love the added texture of white-on-white in the background! I adhered the Ornamental Bliss die cuts and sentiment strip using foam adhesive for extra dimension.

For my second project, I combined the gorgeous new Exotic Blooms stamp set with the new Artist’s Watercolor Pan Paints. These new paints are a lovely, high quality with a beautiful array of colors (and an excellent price point!). I began by heat embossing the main image from Exotic Blooms using pearl white embossing powder on some cold press watercolor paper.

After watercoloring the beautiful floral bouquet with the new Artist’s Pan Paints, I die cut the image with it’s coordinating die. I also die cut the word “friend” from some glittery white cardstock using the Tall Alpha dies and heat embossed a greeting from Sentiment Strips onto a thin strip of lavender cardstock.

Before assembling the card, I blended some Pinkalicious ink on the corner of an A2 panel of coral cardstock using blending brushes, then adhered the Exotic Blooms bouquet using foam adhesive. I added the sentiment strip and die cut sentiment, then for some final sparkle, added a few gems.

Now, for a shameless plug: if you would like to see these new Artist’s Watercolor Pan Paints in action, I am teaching my very first class with the Altenew Academy: Artist’s Watercolor 101, with each lesson featuring a different technique using these new paints! We will discuss different qualities of these watercolors, and then I will demonstrate 5 different techniques with in-depth instructions. The class is a great bargain (only $8.95!), so I hope you will consider taking it! You can watch all of the videos at your own pace, but the fun starts on February 21.
Well, that’s all for my projects today! Now, for some fun giveaway information:
