Hi there! I have some more fun inspiration using the August Essentials By Ellen release, as well as my latest Exploring With Emily video!
In this month’s Exploring with Emily video, I share some tips on coloring white flowers with Copic markers, emphasizing a bright background around the flower with very minimal shading. The contrast helps to emphasize that bright white amaryllis!
I have a few other cards to share with you using some of the latest goodies from the Essentials By Ellen release, including another projects using the beautiful Mondo Amaryllis stamp set!
For this project, I chose a bit more traditional color scheme, focusing my attention on a beautiful, bright red amaryllis flower using Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink and some no-line Daniel Smith watercoloring. I began by stamping the main amaryllis image on some Arches Cold Press watercolor paper using Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink.
I watercolored the image using my Daniel Smith paints, adding lots of extra shadows. I waited until the image was dry to add some details, including the stamens and the veins on the flower petals.
I heat embossed the new Rustic Woodgrain stamp on some Pebble card stock using White Satin Pearl embossing powder for a subtle, slightly metallic tone-on-tone look. I then layered a vellum Double Stitched Polygon from Honey Bee Stamps over the top of the woodgrain background, then added the die cut Amaryllis over the top, as well as a sentiment from Mondo Amaryllis, which I white embossed on some more Pebble card stock and trimmed into three separate strips.
For my second card, I used the Holiday Characters stamp set to create a window of little holiday folks. I stamped the images using Intense Black ink on some white card stock and colored them with Copic markers. I die cut the images using the coordinating dies.
After I’d stamped, colored, and die cut the images, I die cut a panel of white card stock using a stitched rectangle die and backed it with some red glitter cardstock. I added the little faces using foam adhesive in the center of each window.
Well, that’s all for me today! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous weekend!
