Textured Thank You with Simon Says Stamp + SALE!

May 26, 2025

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon!

Hi friends! It’s Memorial Day here in the United States, a day in which we honor those who have fallen in service to our country. In honor of their sacrifice, I have a serene thank you project full of texture to share with you today featuring some beautiful soothing aqua tones that I’ve embellished with a bit of sparkle and shimmer. Let’s get started with the details!

*I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

To begin, I ran a panel of pearlescent aqua carotdstock through my die cutting machine using the Brilliant Hibiscus Embossing Folder. The pearlescent coating on the cardstock enhances the details of the embossed images beautifully. I also used the coordinating dies to die cut some Simon Says Stamp Sea Glass cardstock, then ran the die cut images through my Brilliant Hibiscus embossing folder, nestling them in the appropriate area to ensure that the details came through perfectly.

After I had embossed the die cut images, I used my OLO Markers to add some additional shading to the die cut flower. I selected markers that were the same general color as the Sea Glass cardstock, allowing the pale aqua cardstock to be the main focus of the color palette and using the OLO Markers to enhance the shadows. I used the 0 marker around the edges of the marker shading to soften the edges and create a seamless blend between the marker and the colored cardstock. I also used some glittering watercolors to add shimmer to the stamens of the flower and the edges of each petal.

For the greeting, I used Simon Says Stamp White Pigment Ink to stamp a greeting from the Lovely stamp set onto some Audrey Blue Cardstock. I also added some Iridescent Blue embossing powder over the top to add some gorgeous shimmer to my stamped sentiments. I die cut the “lovely” detail layer from some iridescent white foil cardstock and the shadow layer from some more Audrey Blue Cardstock, layering the die cut pieces together with liquid adhesive. Once I had finished the sentiment components, I used Simon Says Stamp Thin Foam Squares to adhere the die cut pieces over the deeply textured, embossed background. The deeper Audrey Blue cardstock against the pale pearlescent aqua backdrop is so gorgeous and highlights the shading on the die cut floral!

I finished the project off with a few Surf Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for added sparkle and tucked a Simon Says Stamp Iridescent White Cord bow beneath the greeting for a bit more texture and shine.

Well, that’s all for my project today. To honor our heroes and to celebrate the official start of summer, Simon Says Stamp is offering 15% off your entire purchase!

So Lovely to See You In Sunny Yellow with Simon Says Stamp!

January 22, 2025

Hi friends! We are at the end of another stretch of bitterly cold weather, as most of the country is, I think, and I thought I’d brighten things up with a tropical-themed card using some warm greens and yellows! I’ve been to Mexico a few times, and I am always astounded by the vibrancy of the colors everywhere, from the flora to the fabrics to the decor…. it’s a visual feast! I channeled some of that into this project using some dies that I had not yet had a chance to use, along with the blackout technique on the Feathery Fronds embossing folder, so let’s get started with the details!

*I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

I began by running an A2 panel of white cardstock through my die cutting machine using the Feathery Fronds embossing folder, then flipping the cardstock over so that the debossed side was facing up. I used blending brushes to blend Celery and Fairway inks over the debossed foliage, concentrating the darker green in the center and brushing the tips of the fronds with the lighter green to create a bit of gradation and interest on the foliage. After I had finished blending, I put the Nocturne Pigment Ink pad directly to the cardstock and gently swiped the black ink over the raised areas, highlighting the debossed pattern while still allowing the ink blending to peek through. I love the dramatic effect this creates!

For my focal point, I die cut the Lily Duo die and the Etched Delicate Frond die sets from white cardstock, then used blending brushes with Celery, Fairway, and Lemonade Pawsitively Saturated Inks to blend some beautiful and vivid color on the individual die cuts. I don’t frequently use yellow for a focal point, so it was fun to step outside of my color comfort zone for this card!

For the greeting, I stamped the coordinating sentiment strips onto some black cardstock using the Lovely stamp set, then die cut the large scale coordinating sentiment die from some sparkling lime green Altenew Fairy Dust Glitter Cardstock, adding the shadow layer with some more black cardstock. I arranged the flowers and foliage on the debossed and blended card front using both liquid and foam adhesive, then tucked the sentiment pieces amongst the arrangement with a double layer of foam adhesive to give it some extra height. Finally, I added some extra shimmer to the card with a few Sprout Pawsitively Dazzling Gems.

Well, that’s all for my project today! While it is frigid outside, I am dreaming of a warm tropical paradise with drinks decorated with little umbrellas, delicious fresh fruit, sunglasses, and sparkling pool waters. Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day! Stay warm, friends!

STAMPtember is HERE!

Hi friends! It’s here…. Simon Says Stamp’s 15th STAMPtember month-long celebration is finally heeeeere!!! The incredible work behind the scenes from Heidi and the amazing team at Simon promise to make this year the most amazing STAMPtember ever. I hope you’re ready for an absolutely fabulous party to celebrate this hobby that we all love all. month. long! We are kicking things off tonight with an incredible (and massive) Simon Says Stamp brand release (click HERE to see the entire release!) and there will be limited edition collaboration sets released each day throughout the entire month of September. This release has tons and tons of amazing standalone dies, and I used a few of them on my project for tonight’s release. Let’s get started with the details!

I am a sucker for a pretty flower die, and the new Rustic Layering Flower is so delicate and detailed that I couldn’t resist playing with it. I think that flowers and plaid go together like peanut butter + chocolate, so I also pulled out the new Double Plaid Cover Plate. This cover plate promises to be super versatile for both holiday and non-holiday projects alike!

I started my project by die cutting the Rustic Layering Flower from some white cardstock and used my OLO markers to add color to each layer of the flower before assembling it with liquid adhesive. The bloom reminded me of a gerbera daisy, so I decided to color it with some warm coral-pink OLO markers, concentrating the darker colors in the center to add lots of depth to the flower. I assembled the layers with liquid adhesive, but you could use foam adhesive squares for tons of dimension!

After I had assembled my flower, I stamped and die cut a greeting using the Lovely stamp set and coordinating Lovely die (you can also get the Lovely stamp + die bundle) using a crisp black and white combination to keep things simple and allow that gorgeous coral bloom to be a vibrant pop of color. I die cut the Double Plaid Cover Plate from some white cardstock and layered it on a white A2 background, popping it up with some thin foam adhesive squares to give it just a touch of extra heigh and help it stand out, creating a textured tone-on-tone background. I arranged the flower and sentiment pieces on a vellum die cut circle, then added the entire piece to the background with some more foam adhesive, clustering them together on the bottom right side of the landscape card. Finally, I tucked a twine bow next to the sentiment and added some Clear Pawsitively Dazzling Gems for a bit more texture!

Well, that’s all for my project today! I have been working my tail off creating some fun projects using the new release, so come back again for more inspiration using the new STAMPtember release for the 15th Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember extravaganza! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!
