Hi friends! My love affair/obsession continues with the blushy peach Apricot cardstock from Simon Says Stamp… I am so inspired by such a beautiful shade, the epitome of springtime in my eyes! I couldn’t resist pairing it with an older set that I illustrated for Simon Says Stamp, called Orange Blossom Blessing. I illustrated this set to have two generously sized floral bouquets with orange blossoms and foliage, but I also wanted to make sure that there were plenty of individual options for bouquet building and accents. I created two different cards using just the individual stamps and some die cut accents. Let’s get started with the details on my projects!

As I said earlier, the Apricot cardstock from the  In My Heart release, (click HERE to see the entire new release!) has quickly become a favorite of mine, so I used that shade as the basis for both of my projects, selecting some beautiful blushy coordinating alcohol markers. Using the individual flower and foliage stamps from Orange Blossom Blessing, I stamped a custom background pattern on an A2 panel of white cardstock using no-line coloring ink, as well as several individual images on a separate panel of white cardstock.

For the first project, I created a custom background pattern by stamping flowers all over the panel of white A2 cardstock, rotating the stamps and the cardstock each time to create a fluid and continuous pattern. I filled in the open spots with the individual foliage stamps, trying to keep things from looking repetitive. After I had colored all of the images with the alcohol markers, I used a rose gold opaque metallic paint pen to add the stamens to the centers of each flower. I love how that touch of metallic marker adds a subtle shimmer to the panel!

Because I had spent a bit of time coloring the card front, I didn’t want to cover it any more than necessary, so I stamped a simple “congratulations” from Orange Blossom Blessing onto some white cardstock and heat embossed it with Copper embossing powder to coordinate with the metallic flower centers. I die cut the sentiment with its coordinating die, and also die cut a vellum Petal Tipped Labels die upon which I could mount the sentiment. I popped it up with some thin foam adhesive squares, then added some more thin foam adhesive behind the solid die cut to hide it and mounted it on the corner of the horizontal card front. I also added a thin white frame cut using the A2 Rectangles, which I adhered around the edge of the card front with liquid adhesive. A thin white silk bow and some Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems finished the card off!

For my second card, I used the individual floral images to accent the larger sentiment from the Orange Blossom Blessing set. After coloring the flowers using the same color palette as the first project, I die cut the individual images with their coordinating dies, as well as the embossed wedding blessing sentiment, which I heat embossed in white on vellum cardstock. I think that it looks so dainty, but still so generously sized that it can be a focal point on the card!

I also die cut one of the Eyelet Layer Frames, cutting out the center with one of the A2 Rectangle dies, creating a neat frame with beautiful details! I popped up the frame using foam adhesive on a panel of my beloved Apricot cardstock, centering the frame on the A2 card front. I added some clear dimensional adhesive behind the vellum greeting and placed it in the center of the frame, then tucked the individual flower and foliage die cuts around the sentiment, creating a delicate floral swag around the greeting. Finally, I added a few Opal Pawsitively Dazzling Gems and an Iridescent White Cord bow for a bit of added texture!

Well, that’s all for my projects today! I just love when a color sparks an entire card set like this gorgeous Apricot cardstock. Are any of you planning to attend the CREATE event in Columbus, Ohio? If so, I will be teaching at a Create It, Take It booth, so I’d love it if you stopped by and said hi!! Thanks so much for stopping by today, and have a marvelous day!

Thanks for Everything with New Simon Says Stamp + SALE!

Hi friends! Boy do I have a fun card for you today using the new Sweet Tiny Flowers die from the latest  You Are My Favorite Release! Sometimes, small images are tricky to work into a card outside of accenting a larger focal point. However, whenever I am presented with a tiny image, my initial thought is “repetition.” Tiny images can be tricky to work with, but if you repeat them or create a fun pattern, they can become a focal point on their own merit. For today’s project, I used some pretty colored cardstock scraps that I had in my stash to create this vibrant and dramatic cascading floral rainbow. Let’s get started with the details on my card!

*I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

To begin, I die cut the flowers from the new Sweet Tiny Flowers die set from six different shades of cardstock, creating a pale peach to vibrant fuchsia ombré. I also die cut the foliage from some gorgeous and intense teal cardstock. I love this orange and fuchsia combination; I like to think of it as my “fiesta” color palette! It looks so striking on the stark black cardstock.

I knew that I wanted to arrange the flowers around a heat embossed sentiment, so my next step was to heat emboss a greeting from Thank You Basics onto some more black cardstock using Hero Arts Iridescent Copper Embossing Powder. I used my sharp scissors to cut the sentiment out, then die cut one of the new Petal Tipped Labels from some Simon Says Stamp So Very Black cardstock and mounted it in the center of a full A2 panel of the same black cardstock using Simon Black Foam Squares. I adhered the sentiment piece to the label with some more black foam adhesive squares, offsetting it to the left to leave plenty of room for my ombré floral cascade.

Once I had my background complete, I then began arranging the flowers on the Petal Tipped Label die cut, curving them around the sentiment and arranging them in a lush swag, keeping the individual colors together to create that ombré effect. I used foam adhesive to pop some flowers up, while I used liquid adhesive to adhere the foliage and some of the smaller flowers. To accent the center of each flower, I added dots of sparkling gel pen and then covered that with some Hero Arts Clear Lacquer to add that touch of height and texture. Finally, I added a few Peachy Pawsitively Dazzling Gems to fill in any gaps in the bouquet and add some sparkle!

Well, that’s all for my project today.

Stenciled Yellow Roses to Say Thinking of You with New Simon Says Stamp!

April 26, 2025

This post was sponsored by Simon Says Stamp. Thanks, Simon!

Hi friends! I am back with another project featuring some fabulous new products from the latest You Are My Favorite Release. My Papa really loved yellow roses, so as soon as I saw the gorgeous Elegant Rose Stencil, I knew that I had to create an homage to my Papa. Simon Says Stamp also offers some utterly luscious shades of yellow and green inks in their Pawsitively Saturated Ink line, so I knew that this card would come together lickety-split. Let’s get started with the details!

*I have gathered links to all of the products used at the bottom of the post for your convenience, using affiliate links. Thank you for shopping with my links! I truly appreciate your support for my work!*

To begin, I used the Pawsitively Perfect Craft Tacky Mat to hold my white cardstock panel securely in place, then blended each layer of the Elegant Rose Stencil using the inks from Pawsitively Saturated Inks: Cabbage, Kale, Artichoke (Trio 21) and Butter, Zest, Honey (Trio 27). These muted shades of green and yellow worked superbly with the gorgeous rose image. The layers of this Elegant Rose Stencil were super simple to line up, as well as providing plenty of space to do some more intricate ink blending on the leaves to create color variation and interest! After I had finished blending the gorgeous rose, I used blending brushes to blend Butter, Kale, and Artichoke inks around the edge of the card front, creating a stunning halo around the rose.

After creating the card base, I wanted to add some fun shimmering accents to the card front to make it ethereal and almost like the rose was in a fairy garden. I used some shimmering handmade watercolor paint to splatter the edges of the card front, then die cut a pearlescent yellow/pale gold frame using the A2 Nesting Frames dies and adhered it around the edges of the card front with liquid adhesive.

For the greeting, I used one of the exquisite sentiment options from the equally-exquisite Flowering Frame set. This set features not only a variety of poignant and purposeful sentiments, but also some gorgeous floral images. I heat embossed the “thinking of you” onto some Midnight Green cardstock using white pigment ink and Iridescent Blue embossing powder, then die cut the sentiment with its coordinating dies. I also die cut one of the new Petal Tipped Labels from some Simon Says Stamp Vellum, trimming off the edge with my guillotine trimmer so that the label nestled flush against the frame. I popped up the greeting die cut with foam adhesive on the vellum label, then flipped both pieces over and added some liquid adhesive behind the solid die cut sentiment. I adhered the vellum label to the card front, then added a few more shimmering accents with some Butter Pawsitively Dazzling Gems and a bow created with Simon Says Stamp Iridescent White Cord.

Well, that’s all for my project today! Don’t forget: the Simon Says Stamp You Are My Favorite Blog Hop is in full swing.
